Main reason analysis: Although the solid polycarbonate sheet is strong, it has a fatal disadvantage, which is that it is sensitive to notches. Please remember this disadvantage of the polycarbonate solid sheet to avoid unnecessary troubles in our future installation. The so-called notch sensitivity, in layman’s terms, is that when there is a notch (collapse, burr) on the edge of the sheet, the board will crack along the notch under the action of force.
So, how to avoid notches in the sheet?
1. When cutting the polycarbonate sheet, the edge of the sheet should always be kept smooth, and no small cracks should be produced.
2. When the polycarbonate sheet needs to be fixed with screws (it is not recommended to fix the curved polycarbonate sheet canopy with screws), the hole should be enlarged first. Assuming that the diameter of the screw is 5mm, the diameter of the enlarged hole should be +4mm, that is, 9mm.
