When installing the polycarbonate sheet, the side with UV co-extruded anti-ultraviolet coating (that is, the side with text on the PE protective film) must be facing the outside. Do not install it upside down. Remove the protective film immediately after installation to prevent the protective film and the polycarbonate sheet from sticking together after exposure to the sun.
To avoid scratching the polycarbonate sheet, do not tear off the protective film when cutting. If you need to mark before cutting, mark on the protective film as much as possible. If you must mark directly on the sheet, please use a crayon and avoid using sharp tools. The protective film can only be torn off after installation. Speaking of protection, if you pay attention when installing the PC polycarbonate sheet, it will definitely be twice the result with half the effort.
Polycarbonate sheets are generally divided into two installation methods: screw installation method and embedding method.
Screw installation method:
1. When installing screws or bolts, the diameter of the sheet hole must be 50% larger than the diameter of the screw or bolt, so that the sheet will be offset when it expands and contracts. It is strictly forbidden to directly open holes and fix screws or rivets at the same time, and no space for thermal expansion and contraction can be reserved.
2. For holes punched in the board, the distance between the holes should not be too large or too small. The larger the distance, the longer the accumulated thermal deformation length, and the insufficient embedded space; the smaller the distance, the more serious the movement of the board, resulting in excessive pressure concentration. If it is allowed to bend outward during thermal deformation, it can offset some of the stress.
3. Generally, for holes punched in the material, the hole spacing is more suitable at 50cm, and the distance between the hole and the edge of the board is recommended to be more than 3cm-5cm.
4. The diameter of the top of the bolt head should be 2 times larger than the diameter of the shank, and a gasket or washer should be added to prevent the large air pressure generated in the part from damaging the board.
5. The screws should not be tightened too much to prevent the board from fracturing. It is better to allow the board to deviate slightly after being stabilized.
6. PVC gaskets or asphalt waterproof tapes should not be used, because their volatile chemical additives will cause chemical corrosion to the material, causing cracks on the surface of the material, or even cracks.
7. During cold bending processing, the bent part should not be fixed with screws.
Embedding method:
1. Due to the low bending stiffness, the polycarbonate sheet installed in the structure will be stretched under the action of external force. Increasing the insertion size in the structure can prevent stretching. Under impact conditions, the polycarbonate sheet may fall off the structure. In this case, you can choose to insert it deeper, use thicker sheets, or fix it with screws.
2. Due to the large thermal expansion coefficient, thermal deformation space should be reserved during construction. If there is not enough thermal deformation space, the sheet thickness can be increased to reduce the embedding part.
3. Use appropriate material thickness according to the load.
